Moonbow (rainbow from moonlight) at Yosemite Falls

Moonbow (rainbow from moonlight) at Yosemite Falls

Moonbows only occur at seven locations around the world. Several conditions need to be right for them to appear. At Yosemite, they only occur around the full moon a few months of the year at the upper and lower Yosemite Falls.

This was taken as clouds were clearing after some afternoon rains. The forecast was correct that the sky would clear late. While it was mostly cloudy when I was setting up, started to clear 20 minutes later. As seen in the photo, passing clouds filled the sky. I waited for the right light to take photos.
